8909: Adweek Ends Slavery…?

Adweek completely revised the AOL slave story virtually overnight. The new version is even lamer than the first. The original headline, “AOL’s Slave-Based Business Model—Writers become profit-generating robots,” was changed to read, “Ex AOL TV Writer Claims to Have Been ‘Content Slave’—Oliver Miller was fired over Alec Baldwin flap.” The copy is now a direct summarization of the actual first-hand account at The Faster Times, devoid of any references to “modern-day indentured servitude.” Hey, it’s a start. But if Adweek really wants to regain respectability, they’ll have to revise the entire enterprise.
