8627: Retracting Jokes.

Sorry Morons in a MultiCultClassics Monologue…

• Comedian and former Aflac duck voiceover Gilbert Gottfried apologized for his joke tweets about the disaster in Japan. “I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by my attempt at humor regarding the tragedy in Japan,” wrote Gottfried. “I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families.” Hey, if Gottfried visits a Japanese restaurant, the chef should prepare crispy duck. Meanwhile, Joan Rivers came to Gottfried’s defense by tweeting, “Oh come on people—this is just outrageous! Gilbert Gottfried was FIRED from Aflac for making jokes about the tsunami in Japan.” Rivers added, “That’s what comedians do!!! We react to tragedy by making jokes to help people in tough times feel better through laughter.” Hey, Rivers should confine her jokes to the tragedy created by her plastic surgeon.

• Rep. Virgil Peck from Kansas apologized for his suggestion that snipers in helicopters should shoot illegal immigrants, declaring his remarks were “regrettable” and intended as jokes. Hey, look for this asshole in the front row at the next Gilbert Gottfried comedy club appearance.
