Essay Sixty-One

Getting together for the holiday weekend with MultiCultClassics Minutes…

• The King of Pop is vacationing with the King of Bahrain at a secret hideaway in the Persian Gulf. Jackson is a guest of the king’s son, Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad al-Khalifa. Wait a minute. Isn’t this how Jackson got in trouble the last time — by hanging out with somebody else’s son?

• Barack Obama met with Henrietta Holsman Fore, the State Department nominee who made a 1987 speech with racially insensitive remarks. Fore insisted her controversial comments were misinterpreted. If she fails to land the State Department gig, this woman should consider running for the presidency of Mexico.

• From those wonderful folks who gave you Pearl Harbor comes a revival of the controversial classic, “Little Black Sambo.” Seems the once-banned book has found a new cult following in Japan. Copies of the book are probably being imported from Mexico.

• Karrine Steffan has written a book titled, “Confessions of a Video Vixen.” Steffan spent years hooking up with hip hop artists and celebrities, living the glam lifestyle no doubt. Now she’s telling all and naming names in her debut novel. Steffan is currently hanging with Bill Maher, which shows how far she’s fallen.

• American Idol winner Ruben Studdard wants to hook up with his ex-manager in a court of law. Studdard has accused the former manager of identity theft. If this guy actually lifted the fallen Idol’s identity, he’ll probably need a truss.
